Project Description
Location: Plumpton – East Sussex
Project: Rural
DOWSETTMAYHEW were instructed to secure planning permission for the residential conversion of redundant farm buildings in a rural location, on the edge of the South Downs National Park.
The building was in a derelict condition and had been unused for many years.
Through a series of pre-application discussions with the Local Planning Authority, a residential conversion of the scheme was successfully negotiated, comprising the retention of core buildings, demolition of more modern unsightly structures, and the construction of new additions and outbuildings.
As a result of the preparation of a comprehensive package of supporting application documents, including demonstrating clear benefits to ecology and improvements in the appearance of the site, the application was approved by the Local Planning Authority within its statutory 8 week timetable in February 2013.
