Project Description

Location: South Downs National Park – West Sussex
Project: Rural

DOWSETTMAYHEW were instructed to secure planning permission for the construction of a new agricultural worker’s dwelling within the downland of the South Downs National Park.

DOWSETTMAYHEW were instructed to lead on planning strategy for preparation and submission of the application, including providing guidance to, and management of, all supporting consultants. We initially provide advice on the appropriate siting of the application and the necessary supporting information required to justify development in a sensitive rural setting within the National Park.

DOWSETTMAYHEW led on the scheme design and supporting reports, including Landscape Visual Impact Appraisal and supporting justification for the construction of an agricultural worker’s dwelling on a property that had previously not had any residential accommodation serving it.

Following the preparation and submission of the application, we undertook all subsequent negotiations with the Local Planning Authority to ensure the application was approved positively under delegated powers.
