Kings House is a prominent Grade II Listed Building located on Hove seafront. Built in the 1870s, as part of a grand masterplan for the Avenues area set to attract wealthy Victorian Londoners. The masterplan was never realised in full and Kings House became the Princes Hotel, before being requisitioned in WWII as a Navy training base. After the war it became the office headquarters for SEEBOARD and then Brighton & Hove City Council.
The site was acquired by our clients following the sale of the site by Brighton & Hove City Council.
Planning permission was granted for the conversion and redevelopment of Kings House, demolition of a 1980s extension and construction of two new residential buildings. The development comprised redevelopment and change of use of the office site to create 169 residential units.
