Project Description
Location: South Downs National Park
Project: Heritage & conservation
DOWSETTMAYHEW were instructed to give planning, listed building and conservation advice, as part of a sensitive redevelopment and regeneration of land and buildings within a rural estate.
The principal dwelling was Grade II Listed and the client’s requirements were for a significant number of alterations that had the potential to affect the character of the Listed Building. Internally, the building required a number of alterations to rooms. Externally, the building required re-roofing, repointing and the client required new extensions.
Within the curtilage, the client’s requirements were to add a tennis court and swimming pool.
DOWSETTMAYHEW were lead planning consultants and secured the appropriate consents in each instance. The client undertook the works during 2011/2012 and has now been able to move into the property following completion.
